Write Up
Thomas Bryant come on to the draft radar late during his freshman season and was projected to be a potential first round pick going into his sophomore season. However, similar to his teammate O.G. Anunoby, he failed to show a large jump in play from one year to the next, and in Bryant’s case, it’s significantly hurt his draft stock. Bryant has a good motor, combine that with his strength/length and you have a player with high defensive and rebounding upside. He has good intangibles and will be a good guy to have in a locker room. He projects to be more of a role player and if all goes well, could be one of the more valuable role players in the league in a few years. He needs some offensive polish, but does show some potential on the block and with his shot. He’ll also need to improve his feel for the game (like most young prospects do). Overall, Bryant has some NBA level skills that can’t be taught and may prove to be a good role player for many years.
