Write Up
Miles Bridges is a hyper athlete who has an NBA ready body and is versatile enough to play the SF and PF positions (although he is more of a natural PF).  He has a high motor and plays with confidence and intensity, he enjoys playing physical and will use his big body to battle for rebounds or throw it down over defenders.  He is a solid spot up 3pt shooter (41%) and could become more of an athletic stretch 4 in the pros.  He’s compared to Larry Johnson and current Carmelo Anthony in the sense that he is a good athlete for his size, but tends to settle for more jumpers then you’d like. However, with being said, Bridges is a unique player that’s fairly tough to compare to others.

Where Bridges struggles is with his creating/playmaking ability, offensive polish, and shot selection, he should be able to fine tune these things with NBA coaching, but for the moment they’re limiting him from being a high pick in the draft.  Bridges shows flashes of being dominant, but tends to bail defenses out when settling for jumpers or failing to take advantage of his mis-match potential. Bridges has improved overall from his freshman to sophomore year, but will need to continue to improve his fluidity, playmaking ability, and creating off the bounce. It was assumed Bridges would be the national player of the year in the pre-season, but when he didn’t take that “next step” people were hoping for, it became easier to nitpick his game. Overall, Bridges had another great season and will likely prove to be a matchup nightmare for opposing PF’s in the future.
