There are not too many holes in Buddy Hields game. He has really improved his all around game during his stay at Oklahoma. His best skill is shooting the basketball. He can easily stroke it from NBA 3 pt range and is a good shooter off pull ups, curls, and pick and pops. His dribbling has dramatically improved which has opened up other parts of his game to develop. He can finish with both hands easily, he’s strong enough to finish through contact, and he has a nice floater game to shoot over the trees. He is a very high character guy and will be a hard worker and team first player wherever he is drafted. A couple of minor concerns are his quickness and lack of height for the SG position. He does have good length which will make up for his smaller height in the NBA. Hield is a good athlete, he’s not great, but he will be good enough for the NBA. As long as he isn’t relied heavily upon to constantly create his own shot then his lack of elite quickness will not be an issue. Overall Hield is NBA ready and will be able to start at the SG position for just about any team.
