Ivica Zubac has great size for the pros, but lacks on just about everything else needed to make an impact in his rookie season. His greatest strength other than his size is his draft and stash potential. Up to now he has good experience, but could use some more before coming to the NBA. He is a good runner for his size and does show flashes of some decent post game along with rim protection, but still needs to improve in those areas. He can also improve his rebouding, he is not a bad offensive rebounder, but needs to get better overall. He is not a very explosive athlete off the floor and struggles against defenders his size or bigger. He also struggles when double teamed, he doesn’t keep his composure and will throw a wild pass or turn the ball over. His shot has some potential, the mechanics aren’t too bad, but for now it’s very much a work in progress. Lastly, he has had some injuries (foot and knee) that have caused him to miss some time, this may prove to be too big of a red flag for him to be drafted in the first round. Overall Zubac has the potential to be a decent backup Center in the NBA, but could use a few more years overseas to polish up his game.
