Write Up
Mitchell Robinson opted to skip college (de-committed from Western Kentucky) in order to train and prepare for the draft. Doing this may have actually helped his draft stock as he’s now a mystery man that teams could be hesitant to pass up in the late 1st round. At 7’1″ with a 7’4″ wingspan, Mitchell has the measurables that you’d like to see in a potential rotation big. He’s also a good athlete and can get up the court in a hurry and shows the potential to cover the perimeter in P/R situations. Offensively, Mitchell is a raw prospect and will need time to develop in the G-League or in practice settings before he’s ready to contribute full time in the NBA, but he has some upside as a potential P/R big (lob target) and P/Pop big as he has shown nice touch from deep during his high school years. Defensively, Mitchell has the tools to be an effective rim protector and rebounder at the next level. Overall, Mitchell has some great tools to work with, but lacks a high BBIQ/feel for the game and will need to be brought along slowly in order to max out his full potential.
