Malcolm Brogdon is a very skilled and mature player who has been a key part of Virginia’s continued success. He is a very good shooter and can shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. He is a very old school type of player who is very crafty and fundamentally sound. He uses good ball fakes, knows how to shed defenders, gets to open spots on the floor, and makes smart decisions. He has a high basketball IQ and is a hard worker who is very coach-able. He plays hard on defense and possesses good size, strength, and length to cover SG’s and SF’s. The only weaknesses to Brogdon’s game are his athleticism, age, and potential ceiling. He is not very fast and can’t jump very high, but he finds a way to get things done. His lack of athleticism will hurt him against NBA defenders, but he’ll figure things out. He is 23 years old and doesn’t have a ceiling as far as potential, but he is very productive and has definite role player potential. Overall he is going to bring hard work and intelligence to whichever team that drafts him (probably the Spurs).
